The album cover of the Beatles “Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band” features the famous Metepec "Tree of Life" and was our inspiration for the design concept.
An exciting and colorful exterior with layering of textures and patterns are a metaphor for the highly intricate and decorative local arts and crafts of Metepec.The design uses a dramatic relief of fritted glass which is punctuated with a huge front glazed picture frame to provide views into a dynamic retail environment. The corner is opened to encourage user access with a desert cactus garden to complement the mini outdoor plaza. The project incorporates environmental characteristics and is seeking LEED certification.
